About Holy Trinity Church, Bansko

Holy Trinity Church is the main Orthodox church of Bansko and one of the finest examples of Bulgarian National Revival church architecture. It stands inside a high walled courtyard in the old town, with a tall stone bell tower beside it.

The church is closely tied to Bansko's place in Bulgarian history: the town was the birthplace of Paisius of Hilendar, author of the "Slavonic-Bulgarian History", and of other Revival figures.
