About Bansko House Museums and Icon Exhibition
Bansko's stamp point covers a group of museums in the old town. Velyanov House was decorated by the master painter Velyan Ognenov and is a typical fortified Bansko house of the Revival period. The Neofit Rilski House Museum is the 18th-century birthplace of the scholar and teacher Neofit Rilski, and the Nikola Vaptsarov House Museum, on the central square, is the family home of one of Bulgaria's best-known 20th-century poets.
The permanent icon exhibition presents the Bansko School of Art, one of the main schools of Bulgarian church painting in the 18th and 19th centuries.
