About Thracian Tomb at Starosel
The Thracian tomb under the Chetinyova mound near the village of Starosel is the largest structure of its kind in Thrace. It was built in the middle of the 4th century BC for a Thracian ruler, probably of the family of King Cotys I, and is part of a group of mounds on the southern slopes of the Sredna Gora.
It was excavated in 2000 by Georgi Kitov. A stone wall rings the mound, and a staircase leads to a columned hall and a round burial chamber.
