About Trigrad Gorge and Devil's Throat Cave
The Trigrad Gorge is a canyon of vertical marble rocks in the western Rhodopes. Its west wall reaches 300 metres, and the Trigradska river flows along it and then plunges into the Devil's Throat Cave, emerging 530 metres further as a karst spring.
Inside the cave the river falls about 42 metres in one of the highest underground waterfalls in the Balkans. Visitors walk through a tunnel and climb a long stairway out.
