About Dospat
Dospat is a town in the south of Bulgaria, in Smolyan Province in the Rhodope Mountains, next to the Dospat Dam. It is the centre of Dospat Municipality.
The Dospat Dam is the highest in Bulgaria by altitude and the second-largest by capacity, with a water area of 22 km². The reservoir is used for fishing, trout farming and summer tourism.
