About National History Museum, Sofia

The National History Museum in Sofia is the largest museum in Bulgaria. It was founded in 1973 and since 2000 has been housed in a large building in Boyana that once served as a government residence.

Its collections include Thracian gold and silver treasures such as the Panagyurishte treasure, medieval church art and objects from every period of Bulgarian history.
