About Aleksandar Stamboliyski Villa Museum

The Aleksandar Stamboliyski Villa Museum lies 3 km east of the village of Slavovitsa, in Septemvri municipality. It was built in 1922 as the country house of Prime Minister Aleksandar Stamboliyski, leader of the Agrarian Union, on his own land.

After the coup of 9 June 1923 Stamboliyski was captured here and killed nearby on 14 June 1923. The two-storey villa, the old house and farm buildings are now a museum.
