About Museum of Woodcarving and Icon Painting, Tryavna
The Specialised Museum of Woodcarving and Icon Painting brings together ten museum sites in Tryavna and opened under this name in 1963. It presents the Tryavna school, whose carvers and icon painters decorated churches and houses across the Bulgarian lands in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The main display is in the old school on the central square, beside the clock tower; carved ceilings can also be seen in the Daskalov House.
