About Erma River Gorge, Tran

The Tran Gorge, also called the Gorge of the Erma, is a canyon on the Erma river in the easternmost part of the Ruy mountains in western Bulgaria. It lies about 3 km north of Tran, just south of the Serbian border.

The gorge is only a few metres wide in places, with limestone walls rising high above the river. A path and footbridge lead along it, and the Ruy mountain is a popular walking area.
