About University Botanic Garden, Balchik
The University Botanic Garden in Balchik belongs to Sofia University and was founded in 1955 in the grounds of the former royal palace. It covers 194 decares, much of it a protected area.
The garden holds thousands of plant species and is known for its large outdoor collection of cacti and succulents, one of the largest in Europe.
