About Albena
Albena is a major Black Sea resort in north-eastern Bulgaria, in Balchik Municipality, 12 km from Balchik and 30 km from Varna. It was built on empty land in the 1960s and since 2005 has been counted as a settlement by the National Statistical Institute.
Albena has a uniform architectural style and works as a small resort town, with its own downtown, streets, squares and an internal transport service. It is served by Varna Airport.
