Hadzhi Dimitar House Museum and Textile Industry Museum, Sliven

Sliven is known as the "City of the 100 Voyvodi", after the leaders of haiduk bands who fought Ottoman rule. The Hadzhi Dimitar House Museum is the birthplace of one of the best known of them, who died in 1868 in the Balkan Mountains; the house includes an inn and a yard of the 19th century.

The National Museum of the Textile Industry tells how Sliven became a textile centre before the Liberation. In 1834 Dobri Zhelyazkov opened the first factory in the Bulgarian lands here.
