About Devil's Bridge, Ardino

The Devil's Bridge spans the Arda river about 10 km from Ardino. It was built in the early 16th century on an old road linking the Thracian plain with the Aegean coast. Its high central arch and slender profile make it one of the most photographed bridges in Bulgaria.

Legends say the devil's footprint or face can be seen on its stones. The bridge stands in a wooded gorge reached by a short path.
