“Amendments to the Health Insurance Act aim at more efficient spending of the money in the healthcare sector,” said Dr Daniela Daritkova, MP with the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) and chairperson of the parliamentary committee on health, speaking for Radio FOCUS.

“There should be no concerns about the division of the packages for medical services on major and additional ones because this guarantees that the rights of the health insured citizens will not be taken away,” Ms Daritkova commented further.

“The Bulgarian government adopted the National Health Concept – 2020, which outlines the long-term priorities we aim at in terms of sick rate, death rate, and others, which give objective characteristic of the healthcare of a country,” the expert said.
