About Sozopol
Sozopol is an ancient seaside town 35 km south of Burgas and one of the major resorts on the southern Black Sea coast. In antiquity it was the Greek colony of Antheia and later Apollonia. It is the centre of Sozopol Municipality in Burgas Province.
The old town keeps wooden houses on a rocky peninsula, and the Apollonia arts and film festival takes place every September. The new town and nearby resorts have a wide range of hotels and apartments.
