Das Ethnografische Museum in Berkovitsa zeigt Leben und Bräuche Nordwestbulgariens mit Trachten, Teppichen, Schmuck und Haushaltsgegenständen. Im Hausmuseum Ivan Vazov lebte der Schriftsteller 1879–1880, als er Vorsitzender des Bezirksgerichts war.
Der Gipfel Kom (2.016 m) im westlichen Balkangebirge südlich der Stadt ist das Wahrzeichen von Berkovitsa. Er ist auch Ausgangspunkt des Weges Kom–Emine, der Fernwanderroute entlang des Balkangebirges bis zum Schwarzen Meer.
