Almagest describes itself as the most modern Bulgarian producer of ethanol, producing 30 000 000 litres of ethanol and 24 000 tonnes of dried distillers' grains a year. In 2009 it commissioned a plant producing ethanol from grain about 35 km southeast of Sofia in Ihtiman municipality, and in 2023 Agria Group Holding acquired all of its shares. It holds ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and ISCC EU certifications.
