Bulgaria will launch a direct ferry link with Georgia, Bulgarian Finance Minister Simeon Djankov announced.
This is a step intended to improve the mutual economic relations between the two countries. Another priority is recovering the direct Sofia-Tbilisi flights.
Minister, Djankov is on a two-day visit to the Caucasian country, underlined also the importance of the Nabucco gas pipeline.
"Bulgaria has already ratified the documents necessary in order to launch the Nabucco project. Nabucco and South Stream are both necessary with regard to energy diversification.
The Nabucco project, estimated at around EUR 7.9 B, is designed to pump Central Asian gas via Turkey to Austria and Germany through Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. It will be a continuation of the existing Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline and is to transport 31 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
Later on Tuesday, Simeon Djankov will hold a public lecture in the Free University of Tbilisi.
While in Georgia, Bulgaria's Finance Minister will also have talks with his Montenegrin counterpart Igor Luksic and Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Tigipko.
