The Greek VIOHALCO Group was established in 1937 as an enterprise for processing and manufacturing copper and aluminium products. Today it is the group with the largest turnover in Greece. VIOHALCO Group comprises scores of companies whose products are certified under ISO 9002. Steelmet was founded at the beginning of 1994 as a commercial company. It started production in 1999. Its product range includes more than 4,000 profile sizes. These include industrial aluminium profiles, aluminium architectural systems and custom-made profiles. In the factory function 3 modern extrusion lines, automatic lines for assembly of thermal- break profiles and the only one of its kind, in Bulgaria, vertical installation for electrostatic powder coating. Its present annual production capacity exceeds 20 000 tones, making Steelmet the largest aluminium profile producer in Bulgaria and one of the largest in the EU.
Steelmet is the exclusive trader of VIOHALCO Group products in Bulgaria. Its warehouses offer: rolled non-ferrous metals, aluminum plates, coils and foil, copper and brass pipes, bars, strips, plates and bands, cables and enameled copper conductors. As a commercial company, Steelmet has its own distribution centers in the main Bulgarian cites: Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Blagoevgrad, Rousse, Bourgas, Pleven, Stara Zagora, Gorna Oriahovica, Vratsa and distributors across the country. Due to customer oriented trade policy of Steelmet the market share of the company is expanding extremely fast.
Over 70 percent of the production is exported to foreign markets -Germany, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine and other.
