About Reinforced Polymeric Insulations, Ltd.
POLYMERIC IMPACT-RESISTANT INSULATORS WITH
SILICONE COATING FOR 1 kV VOLTAGE
Insulators are designed for exploitation under the severe conditions in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, electrical heating plants, cement industry, shipbuilding etc. They are appropriate in all cases where the shortcomings of the porcelain insulators and of the other common types of polymeric ones, for example the ones made of casted epoxy compound, are manifested.
Manufacturing of a new type polymeric insulator with small dimensions and glass fiber composite rod with embedded metal fitting with protective ribbed silicone coating has been initiated. Its principal construction is shown on the figure.
The glass fiber rod is made according to a new technology that includes winding, pressing, vacuum, and specific heating manipulations. The continuous glass fibers are oriented according to the working load direction. Together with the specific structure comprised of two separate bonding resins, this technology ensures excellent mechanical characteristics, great impact-resistance of the glass fiber rod, as well as reliable embedding of metal fitting.
The silicone coating is laid by a single hot pressing of specialized silicone compound for outdoors high voltage insulators.
