Developer Trinity Capital expects the project to create 150 to 200 jobs, with more than 26 shops and 560 parking spaces due to open in 2027.
Construction has started on the XOPark Stara Zagora retail park, an investment of nearly EUR 20 million, Trinity Capital executive director Stoyan Kolev said at a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday 22 October, BTA reported.
The project includes around 20,000 square metres of retail space, more than 26 shops and 560 parking spaces. It is expected to create between 150 and 200 jobs, and the opening is planned for 2027. The complex will host more than 25 brands, some of them new to the city, including the first Fantastico supermarket in Stara Zagora, which will offer more than 20,000 products.
According to BTA's Bulgarian-language report, the shops will cover food and drink, fashion, footwear, sports and children's goods, electronics, furniture and household goods. Kolev said the investment would benefit the local economy through new jobs, wages and local taxes and fees, and that the developer planned to give local businesses and producers a place in the tenant mix.
The park will also include a community space called Agora, intended for social contacts, events and initiatives involving local residents. It will give small producers and creative groups a chance to present their products and ideas to a wider audience.
Stara Zagora Mayor Zhivko Todorov welcomed the investment, pointing to its potential to boost employment and the local economy.
XOPark Stara Zagora is Trinity Capital's seventh retail park project. The company aims to expand its network to around ten locations by the end of 2028, with further projects planned in Sandanski, Gotse Delchev and Razgrad. Kolev also said an outlet project was being prepared on the site of XOPark Sofia.
